About Me

My name is Stephanie and I am 22 years old, living in beautiful southern California. My blog documents my food and fitness habits as I strive to find happiness and balance in my life between being a full time college student, having a part time job and being a family member/girlfriend/friend. I am hoping that by sharing my healthy recipes and fitness tips that I can help inspire you to live your life the best and healthiest as well.

My baby "Turner" and I

I started focusing on living and eating healthy a couple of years ago after going through some serious health issues that landed me in the hospital for nearly a month. Still to this day, my family doctor can't properly diagnose what I have but there is a possibility that I might have either Still's Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or MS. The symptoms I had during those painful months were strange and could not be perfectly labeled to a disease type. Yes, it was frustrating and it still is because I don't know what I can do prevent this from happening again! Since then, I was on Predinsone which is a steroid prescription that relieves inflammation (swelling, heat, redness, and pain) and is used to treat certain forms of arthritis. It is known to carry symptoms such as depression, dizziness and anxiety. I am no longer on that prescription and it's been about a year already since I've been off of it. I have gained 35 pounds that year because I was too weak to do anything.  I was seriously depressed with everything.  I went back to school to finish my GE requirements and transferred to CSUF with a major in Communicative Disorders with an emphasis in Audiology. I chose audiology because I wanted a career where I can help others with hearing loss and give them reassurance and confidence that they need because I know exactly what they go through. I have a hearing loss myself and I know they someone who knows exactly what they go through. I've wanted that kind of audiologist, too.

Slowly, I am working my way to becoming an active person again. I stumbled across a couple food blogs and was instantly captivated! Hi Caitlin from Healthy Tipping Point, Angela from Oh She Glows, and Kath from KERF. These ladies have inspired me to create my own blog and adopt a plan to race my first 5k!!!

      A Little About Me:

      • I enjoy taking photos of food and treat my camera, Miss Posh, like it’s my baby. :P
      • I'd rather go shopping for food at grocery markets and go shopping at TJ Maxx and Target for kitchen supplies rather than shopping for clothes and shoes. Yes, even over shoes!

        Hi fellow Socal blogger,

I just want to say hello and let you know that I checked out your blog. Cool layout, almost like my scrapbooks.

Which 5K race are you planning on running? My fiance just started running with me and I want to run a 5K race with him. We were going to do the Disney 5K but we were traveling during that weekend.

Anyways, good luck with your studies and training.
